Description
Sport Series Throttle Tubes
RFX Sport Series throttle tubes are an exact replacement part at a fraction of the cost of genuine parts. They have been manufactured with a Teflon-coated nylon fabric to ensure a smooth feel and fit.
- Replacement throttle tubes for all popular off-road bikes.
- Uses the same cam profile as the OEM part for proper throttle control.
- Teflon-coated nylon fabric provides smooth action.
- Does not damage bars like aluminium tubes.
- Open-ended design for use with aluminium handguards if required.
Fitting Instructions
- Slide the rubber cover down and disassemble the throttle housing, remove the old throttle tube taking care not to damage the throttle cables.
- If necessary, carefully remove the grip from the old throttle tube.
- Inspect the cables and housing for damage or excessive wear, clean and lubricate or replace as necessary.
- Clean the handlebar and check for damage where the old throttle tube has rubbed on the bar, if there are burrs, replace the handlebar.
- Slide the new throttle tube onto the handlebar and lubricate using a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease, as this attracts dirt and causes the throttle to stick after a short period of time).
- Reassemble the throttle cables and housing using a little penetrating lubricant.
- Tighten the throttle housing into the correct position on the handlebar.
- Adjust the cable to your preferred length.
- Turn the handlebar to its maximum position to check for correct throttle operation and correct cable routing; the cable may need to be readjusted.
- Slide the rubber cover back over the housing.
- Cover the hole in the end of the grip with insulating tape (to prevent glue from entering the throttle tube) and apply a small amount of RFX grip glue to the outer end of the throttle tube on the outer diameter.
- Apply a small amount of RFX grip glue to the inside of the new grip and slide it onto the tube.
- Rotate the grip to the correct position and allow it to dry.
- Apply RFX safety wire, if necessary.
- After the glue has dried, recheck for correct throttle operation.
