Fitting instructions
- Start with the bike on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground.
- Loosen the rear axle nut and remove the axle.
- Lift the chain off the sprockets & remove the rear wheel.
- Remove the old chain adjusters.
- Remove the old chain adjuster bolts.
- Press out the axle from the chain adjuster (KTM only); this may require some heat and a vice, be careful not to damage the axle.
- Refit the axle into the new chain adjuster (KTM only); ensure you use red thread lock when doing this.
- Clean around the swingarm ensuring it is clean and free from debris.
- Take the new RFX chain adjusters and place them into the swingarm ensuring alignment and that the bolts are in position.
- Clean the axle and adjuster nut.
- Apply waterproof grease to the axle and wheel spacers.
- Lift the wheel into position and refit the chain.
- Insert the axle all the way through and refit the adjuster nut, do not tighten the nut fully.
- Align the wheel square using the chain adjusters and adjust the chain to the correct tension (consult owner’s manual for correct tension)
- Tighten the adjuster nut to correct torque as per owner’s manual.
