Description
Sport Series Throttle Tubes
RFX Sport Series throttle tubes are an exact replacement part at a fraction of the cost of genuine parts. They have been manufactured with a Teflon-coated nylon fabric to ensure a smooth feel and fit.
- Replacement throttle tubes for all popular off-road bikes.
- Uses the same cam profile as the OEM part for correct throttle control.
- Teflon-coated nylon fabric provides smooth action.
- Does not damage bars like aluminium tubes.
- Open-end design for use with aluminium handguards if required.
Fitting Instructions
- Slide rubber boot down and unbolt throttle housing, remove old throttle tube taking care not to damage throttle cables.
- If required carefully remove grip from old throttle tube.
- Inspect cables and housing for damage or excessive wear, clean and lubricate or replace if required.
- Clean handlebar and check for damage where the old throttle tube has been rotating on the bar, if there are any burrs, replace the handlebar.
- Slide new throttle tube onto handlebar and lubricate using a penetrating lubricant, preferably Maxima MPPL (do not use grease as this will attract dirt and cause the throttle to stick after a short while).
- Reassemble throttle cables and housing using a small amount of penetrating lubricant.
- Tighten throttle housing to the correct position on the handlebar.
- Adjust the cable to your preferred length.
- Turn handlebar to its full lock to check for correct throttle operation and correct cable routing; cable may need to be re-adjusted.
- Slide rubber boot back over housing.
- Cover the hole on the end of the grip with electrical tape (to prevent glue getting into the throttle tube) and apply a small amount of RFX grip glue to the outside edge of the throttle tube on the outside diameter.
- Apply a small amount of RFX grip glue to the inside of the new grip and slide over the tube.
- Rotate grip to the correct position and leave to dry.
- Apply RFX grip wire if required.
- After the glue has dried, recheck the throttle for correct operation.
